I built LORUVE because a beautiful room isn't the same as a felt one.
I love to gather people. To create evenings worth staying for. I built this library because I wanted every room I inhabit, and every room I open to the people I love, to feel like nowhere else on earth.
You can get the furniture right, the art right, the linen right, and still have a room with nothing wrong and nothing alive either.
I started building candles the way a director builds a scene. Not from a list of notes, but from the feeling I wanted a specific room to hold at a specific hour.
When the scene is exactly right, something shifts. In you, and in everyone who walks through your door.

The Scene
Marigold opens with the kind of warmth that does not exist in cities, lifted by bergamot into something bright and unforced. Cyclamen moves through the middle, soft and specific. Buchu keeps the air green and slightly wild, the opposite of arranged. Cedar from something old and rooted. Vetiver underneath, warm and mineral and completely without urgency. The fragrance for the morning you stood in the middle of something beautiful and did not reach for your phone. The women who find this one are not looking for pleasant. They are looking for alive.

It is a Tuesday morning and the garden has been awake for hours before you.
The villa sits on a hillside above a valley that has been growing things since before anyone thought to write it down. Your room faces east, which you discovered on the first morning when the light came through the shutters at an angle that made everything look like it had been arranged by someone who understood exactly what morning light should do to a space. You have since left the shutters open. You have since started waking before the alarm, which has never happened to you in a city.
The garden is through the low stone arch at the end of the terrace. You go there before breakfast because it is the most beautiful place you have ever had access to at this hour and you are not willing to waste a single morning of it. Marigolds along the south wall, the kind of orange that does not exist in cities. Cyclamen in the shade of the fig tree. Bergamot coming up the hill on whatever passes for a breeze at this hour, which is less wind and more the air simply changing its mind about where it wants to be.
Cedar from the old hedges. Vetiver from the earth underneath, warm and mineral and completely without urgency. Buchu giving the air a green, slightly wild quality that keeps everything from feeling composed or performed.
You stand in the middle of it with your coffee and you do not take a photograph. You have learned, this week, that some things are only fully experienced when you are not simultaneously documenting them. The garden does not need your record of it. It has been here since before your grandmother was born and it will be here long after you have gone back to the city and started checking your inbox before your coffee again.
For now you are simply here, in the light, in the warmth, in the most alive version of a morning you have ever been offered. You accept it without condition.
